Brad Pitt Is Too Famous And Too Distracting For Jury Duty

Recent birthday boy Brad Pitt showed up at a Los Angeles courthouse to do his civic duty last week, only to be turned away.

Stars may be just like us in that they get called to serve jury duty, but only the most mega-famous are dismissed for being too much of a distraction – so Pitt can now reportedly count himself among that distinguished group.

According to MailOnline, Pitt waited hours in the jury box with other potential jurors before the court told him his services wouldn’t be needed.

LA attorney William R. Lively told Mail Online, “In most cases as soon as it’s discovered that a potential juror is a major celebrity, that person is dismissed, but that is not always the case.”

“You just can’t stick Brad Pitt in a jury box and expect 11 jurors to ignore him,” Lively continued. “It’s only natural that those jurors would be watching to see how Brad reacts to what’s being said and that they could be influenced by his opinions once the jury goes behind closed doors to render a verdict.”

Pitt wasn’t sent home during his 2003 call for jury duty (is he somehow more famous 11 years later?) – he reportedly even shared a Subway sandwich lunch with fellow jurors, because basically when is Brad Pitt not eating?
